/Hi there everyone, today instead of giving you English to use when overseas I thought I might share a few travel idioms with you. Here we go.
itchy feet
To have itchy feet means that you feel like it’s time to get out of here and go somewhere new, it doesn’t always mean travel, it could be when you feel like moving to another place or changing jobs too.
“I’m getting itchy feet again, I think it’s time to start planning my next holiday.”
“I’ve been at this company for 10 years now, I’m getting itchy feet and I think it may be time to move on.”
Hit the road
Hit the road means to leave a place
“Thanks so much for inviting us we had a lovely time but I’m afraid it’s time we hit the road, I start early tomorrow”
In the same boat
In the same boat means to be in the same situation as another person.
“Don’t feel shy about coming to the party next weekend, we are all in the same boat having to speak English the whole time and all of the students help each other out”

トラベル慣用句をシェアしたいと思います。
itchy feet
itchy feetは、ここから出ていきたい、どこか新しい場所へ行きたい、という気分を表す意味があります。
常に旅行のことを意味するわけではなく、どこか他の場所へ引っ越したい、転職したい、という気分の時にも使えます。
“出かけたくてまたウズウズしてきたよ。次の休日の予定を決めないと。”
“この会社にもう10年勤めているんだ。そろそろ次に移るタイミングだと思ってるよ。”
Hit the road
Hit the roadはその場を去ることを意味します。
“招待してくれてありがとう、とっても楽しい時間を過ごせたよ。でも申し訳ないけどもう行かなきゃ。明日早起きなんだ。”
In the same boat
In the same boatは、他の人が自分と同じ境遇や立場にあることを意味します。
“来週末のパーティー、恥ずかしがらずに来てください。ずっと英語で会話をするのは私たちみんな一緒ですし、生徒さん同士助け合いながらできますので。”
