Once in a blue moon means that something happens very rarely.

He hardly ever drinks but once in a blue moon he might have a cassis soda.

I saw the CEO of AEON Eikaiwa on Watanabe street in Tenjin yesterday and he looked as pale as a ghost. It’s probably because of all the bad reviews they’ve been getting!

Hello there everyone, 2 weeks ago I showed you the colour idiom “ out of the blue” I’d like to continue with colour idioms today so this week let’s look at “ green with envy”

Green with envy simply means to be really jealous about something. For example..

I was green with envy when my friend had told me he was going to Thailand for 2 weeks. I’d always wanted to go but never had the chance.

My son was green with envy when his friend bought a new nintendo game so I had to go and buy one for him too.

I was at home watching T.V, when suddenly out of the blue, I got a visit from my cousin who I hadn’t seen in years.

I can’t believe I got laid off, it was so out of the blue.

 young at heart:  thinking and behaving as if you are younger than you really are
“Grandma may be nearing 100 but she has always remained young at heart.”
