Hi there everyone, continuing on from Tim’s theme of airport announcements last week let’s go on to talk about some of the questions you may be asked and possible answers you can give at the immigration desk when you arrive.
- Hello, may I see your passport and immigration form please?
- Here you are.
- Are you a citizen of Japan?
- Yes, that’s right.
- What is the purpose of your visit to the U.K?
- I’m here for sightseeing.
- I’m here to study, I have a student visa.
- I’m here for work, I have a work permit.
- I’m here to visit relatives.
- Where are you staying?
- I’m staying at the Groves Hotel in Victoria Road.
- I’m staying at the Cambridge Campus Dormitory.
- I’m staying with my uncle in Camden.
- How long are you planning to stay?
- I’ll be here for 10 days.
