/Today I’ll introduce you another American business idiom “sell like hotcakes”. This expression was first used in the mid 19th century and it simply means something that is sold very quickly. Hotcake is another word for pancake
I guess hotcakes (pancakes) were very popular then and actually they still are very popular now.
