Hi again! 
Last time I gave you a few expressions to use when you need to complain at a restaurant. Today we will talk about making payment.
Firstly, in the U.S they often call it the check but in the U.K it is known as the bill, so when you want to pay you can say..
“ Excuse me, can I have the bill/check please?”
If you want to treat the person you are with to their meal you can say..
“It’s on me.”
“I’ll get this”
When you want to pay separately you can say..
“Let’s split the bill.”
“Shall we go Dutch?”
When paying...
“Do you take credit cards?”
And lastly, just a quick reminder of my last blog, if you think there is a mistake on the bill you can say..
“I’m sorry I think this is wrong, could you check please?”

前回、レストランでの文句を言う必要があるときの表現をいくつかお伝えしましたが、
今日は支払いについて話します。
まずはじめに、アメリカではしばしば「チェック」といいますが、UKでは「ビル」と言います。なので、支払いをしたいときはこう言います。
「すみません、お会計をお願いします。」
もし、あなたが一緒に行った人に対しておごってあげたいときは、
「私のおごりです。」
「私が払いますよ。」
割り勘したいときは、
「割り勘しよう。」
「割り勘しましょう。」
払うときは
「クレジットカードは使えますか？」
最後に、前回の私のブログを思い出してもらうと、もし領収書に間違いがあったときはこう言えますね。
「すみません、お会計が間違っていると思います。確認してもらえますか？」

When we arrive at a foreign country, we usually have to tell immigration or customs the reason why we are travelling to the country.

Here are some possible answers.

  • I’m here sightseeing.
  • I have a connecting flight. 
  • I am traveling for work/leisure/sightseeing.
  • I’m visiting friends/family.

Also we usually need to answer the duration and location of our stay using:

  • I’ll stay here for …. days
  • I’m staying at ….. Hotel.

Hello guys,
I’m sure you’ll be all very excited to hear that we’ll be holding our English party on Jan 27th.
Last party was loads of fun and also an excellent opportunity for our students to meet other students and to practice the English they had been learning in a more real life environment.
We are going to tweak the party this time, we are going to start with general talk and introductions in pairs just as last time but this time we’ll also include some themed tables were students can talk about some pre-decided subjects. We’ll give you more information on that next week.
For the time being be quick to make a reservation please as there is only space for 30 people and last time it was filled up very very soon.

  • “I’m sorry, this is undercooked.”
  • “Excuse me, we’ve been waiting for an hour. Can you tell me when my order is coming?”
